Texas Wash Bridge Replacement I-10 Project, San Bernardino County, California, EA-08-1G5114, Granite Construction, Inc.

An $8 million emergency bridge replacement project was undertaken on Interstate 10, located east of Desert Center, California. The scope of work involved inspecting and testing concrete for the installation of drilled piers and new abutments on both sides of the wash. Additionally, inspections were conducted for abutment backfill, bridge deck placement, and the placement of new erosion protection measures.

Interstate 10 Pavement Rehabilitation / Resurfacing Between Live Oak Canyon and County Line Roads, Yucaipa, California, EA-08-OK2934, Coffman Specialties, Inc.

A $33 million overlay construction project was carried out on Interstate 10 near Yucaipa. The project encompassed the inspection and testing of roadway excavation and fill, placement of Class 2 aggregate and lean concrete base, and the placement of hot mix asphalt and/or rubberized hot mix asphalt.

State Route 98 / Interstate 8 Separation Project, El Centro, California, EA-11-413704, Coffman Specialties, Inc.

A $61 million construction project was undertaken on the intersection/separation of State Route 98 and Interstate 8 east of El Centro. The project involved inspection and testing of roadway excavation and fill, placement of Class 2 aggregate and lean concrete base, as well as placement of hot mix asphalt and/or rubberized hot mix asphalt.

A $9 million widening and overlay project was conducted on, on/off ramps of Interstate 5 in Chula Vista and National City. The project encompassed inspection and testing of roadway excavation and fill, placement of Class 2 aggregate base, as well as placement of hot mix asphalt and/or rubberized hot mix asphalt.

Interstate 8 Pavement Rehabilitation / Resurfacing, Imperial County, California, EA-11-413604, Coffman Specialties, Inc.

A $63 million widening and overlay project was undertaken on Interstate 8 near El Centro. The project involved inspection and testing of roadway excavation and fill, placement of Class 2 aggregate base and lean concrete base, as well as placement of hot mix asphalt and/or rubberized hot mix asphalt. Additionally, sampling was conducted for minor concrete structures and bridge approach rapid-set pavement slabs.

Additionally, sampling was carried out for concrete bridge deck surface repair, minor concrete structures, and concrete pavement slabs.
